The specification

(what we offer)

An interactive pattern, point by point

A pattern published here is not a frozen document. It adapts to the size and the language of whoever reads it, explains its technical terms where they appear, and exports to PDF with those same settings.

  • Technical sheets for every stitch

Each technical term in the instructions carries the link to the sheet that explains it.

  • Technical sheets for every yarn

Composition, length, recommended needle sizes, colourways: the yarn a pattern asks for has a sheet of its own.

  • French and English

The pattern is written once. The translation is produced and then kept, so it reads the same from one reading to the next.

  • Display set at reading time

The chosen size, and stitches shown as abbreviations or written out in full.

  • PDF export that follows those settings

The export keeps the language, the size and the display retained — not a generic copy.

The tools the work needs

A pattern is not only text. The diagrams it calls for — a colourwork chart, a granny square, a layout of squares — are drawn here, and go into the pattern itself with no other software involved.

  • Colourwork

A grid up to 300 stitches a side, ten colours, and stitch symbols named after the technique they come from.

  • Granny square

A diagram worked in rounds, each one adjustable from a square to a circle.

  • Assembly

The plan of a blanket or a bag: which square goes where, and how many of each it takes.

A place to publish, whatever the craft

Given away or sold, a pattern is published in the same place, whatever the craft — knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, sashiko. Nothing to set up and no file to upload: it is read in the application, in the size and the language of whoever opens it, and it stays current, where a PDF sold once is frozen. The price, the publishing and the withdrawal stay with the author; collecting the payment is taken care of.

A record of every project

A project in progress is followed row by row: progress is marked as the work goes, stitch counters stay within reach of the pattern itself, and notes taken along the way stay attached to the project. Once it is finished it can be published: its page then reads without an account, like a pattern's. Or it stays private, by one setting.

An encyclopaedia of craft

Every craft has its own library: sheets for the stitches, the methods and the finishing, the common mistakes and the way out of them. For a beginner, an ordered path leads from the first sheet to the first project. All of it can be browsed freely — or, on a paid plan, asked of Lulu, the assistant, who draws on those same sheets.

Questions

Yes. The free plan has no time limit: you can follow your projects and read the patterns the community publishes without ever paying. The paid plans raise the quotas and open pattern writing and selling.

No. Creating an account asks for an email address and a password, nothing else. A card is only needed the day you choose a paid plan or buy a pattern.

Yes, with the Creator plan. You set the price, Needle handles the payment, and takes a commission on each sale.

They stay yours. You decide whether a pattern is published or not, free or paid, and you can withdraw it at any time. Deleting your account removes them along with it.

Yes, in one click from your account, with no notice and no explanation to give. Your patterns and projects stay where they are; only the quotas go back to those of the free plan.
